Did you know Colorado Northwestern students can guarantee their admission into the Nursing and Dental Hygiene programs by completing the Guaranteed Admission (GA) program at CNCC? Many healthcare programs nationwide have selective admissions criteria where students must meet the requirements prior to applying. Often these high demand programs typically have more students apply then spots available. This results in competitive admissions where programs take the best of the best often resulting in students having to apply a second or third year prior to being admitted.

The Guaranteed Admissions program at CNCC makes it possible for students to know they will be accepted into their program (provided they complete the requirements of the Guaranteed Admissions); giving peace of mind in a competitive atmosphere in health care education. Typical GA requirements include maintaining a specific GPA while taking specific courses at CNCC. Students can plan their educational timeline and know exactly when they will be entering the healthcare field via one-year or two-year GA tracks.

The GA program is designed to give students a firm understanding of critical concepts and skills that will help ensure their success when in the Nursing or Dental Hygiene programs.  CNCC is only a few colleges that provide this opportunity and is a hallmark of CNCC’s dedication to student success and access to these high demand fields. Both programs have smaller class sizes, allowing students to get the help from instructors in these fast paced and technical fields.

Dental Hygiene guaranteed admissions requirements include:

  • Minimum of pre-requisite courses taken at CNCC – Human Anatomy & Physiology I & II, Microbiology, Introduction to Chemistry or General Organic & Biochemistry, Intro to Sociology, Intro to Psychology, Public Speaking, Human Nutrition, and English Composition I.
  • Maintain a 2.8 GPA while enrolled at CNCC.

Nursing guaranteed admissions requirements include:

  • Minimum of pre-requisite courses taken at CNCC – Human Anatomy & Physiology I & II, Microbiology, Human Growth and Development, English Composition I, Human Nutrition, Medical Terminology, Clinical Calculations, Pathophysiology, and one general education course.

Each program has slightly different requirements when it comes to the one or two-year GA programs and are specific to each option. CNCC’s GA programs similar to a ‘pre’-program track, so make sure to schedule an appointment to visit with the programs that you are interested in today!
